A Quick Rant

Where are my stories about London? And all the wonderful photos? Shouldn't my blog post look something like this?!

Yeah, it's awesome.
Damn fucking straight it should! But for some reason, I seem to be unable to walk in to a hostel/internet cafe that will let me plug in my cameras sdhc card, copy the images, resize, save and upload them. Even as I type, blogger tries to save my blog every 5 seconds, (edit, third time I'm re-typing this) resulting in the computer locking up, nothing happens, then all the text spews forth, filled with gramatical and spelling errorrorrs. Great !

So instead of updating everyone with the awesome time I'm having, the many stories I have accumulated in two days in London will have to wait. Instead I'd like to share a few, er, observations I've made.

Yeah, I'm awesome.
I'm awesome, everyone else is not. - That's right I'm the sort of traveller that sits there chuckling as someone pushes and pulls on the hostel door unable to see the 'push to open' button just to there right. I don't stand around in a big group blocking the ticket machines at tube stations, oh no, I walk right in, cause I have an oyster card. London is easy, so easy that people ask me for directions. I look at the same map they have, what's the deal, can't they read a map? I don't mind, it's good karma.

Germans are (almost always) loud, obnoxious, annoying travellers. It's true! They push in front of me, sit all over the stairs at the hostel, and they're really noisy. I was going to write 'in fact, most tourists are retards', but I think it's just a phenomena where the most retarded tourists really stand out. Like that loud American lady who at the changing of the guard, outside Buckingham Palace, started yelling "Look! Look! The new guard is coming! The new guard is coming!" Oh really lady?! Where?

Also awesome.
Pret A Manger, what does it mean? I don't know, I don't want to know. What do I know? It's fucking awesome! They're on like every corner, they're cheap, tasty, healthy, organic, fair-trade, carbon neutral, food and coffee. Maybe some of that isn't true. I know I haven't told my London stories yet. Consider this a sneak peak. Consider it like a gear review. A recommendation of sorts. If you're in London, pop in.

That's it for now. Just quietly it's my last night in London and I plan to consume many pints. Tomorrow Athens, the following day Kalymnos.

Stay tuned, London's been good and I'll share some of my stories soon...

    K Hell

    Nah, it's not that bad.

I'm just really tired. I've been out drinking and playing pool at the reggae bar instead of sleeping. Gah I hate the travel part of travel. Once again I have to get up at 5am and spend over like 16 hours travelling ! Sweet!

However... I have new Havies and tortoise shell raybans. Look out Kalymnos. The hostel is clean and airconditioned and cheap. I don't think I'll catch aids from the bathroom floor.

The flight was weird, there was this super loud obnoxious lady (mid 30s) who said to me 'oh I really wanted to sit next to you so we could talk', fuck, I would have killed her. Also she didn't lock the toilet when she went to pee. I don't want to read to far into that. Yikes. The only other person who spoke to me was some dude who told me my watch looked 'cute'. Again, yikes.

    Most (un)memorable moments in KL.......

If you have been in this arrivals hall..... you know.... like 1000 people and 4 immigration officers. On the plus side, I've been here often enough I don't get my fingerprints scanned anymore.

    The toilets.....

Smell like skittles?! WTF. You shouldn't walk into a public toilet and think 'yum'

Sleep. Much drinking to be done in London....

    Euro-Zone 2011

Well, shit, not another holiday... My fourth, no ah, fifth, trip for the year. 'Bout time I got a blog.

This little adventure sees me off to the E.U. for just over two months. What am I doing over there you ask?.....Did you really? I hope not. It's not my first time in Europe, no, I spent three months over there in 2009. Now I'm back, and there's projects to finish...

My itinerary is something like this...

So I fly out of the Gold Coast airport. Early on a Sunday morning.... (thanks to whichever poor sucker drops me down there...) Gotta love budget AirAsia...
And arrive in London, where I have carefully chosen a suitable hostel (something with over 400 beds and a bar downstairs) to base myself for four nights.

Of course there's a layover in Malaysia, Kuala-Lumpur, the AirAsia world hub. I'll pick up some raybans, a pair of havaianas. Then catch a wink to recover from a 9 hour flight and prepare for a 13 hour flight. Sweet.

Then Athens, the gateway to Kalymnos... I've been here before, but I missed the National Archieological Museum. So I'll look at some old stuff before flying (yeah I know, I messed up the ferry timing and would of had to wait three days. Not when there's climbing to be done) to Kaly, bussing to Massouri and hassling some Greeks for a cheap six weeks accomodation.

Ahhh little Kalymnos, too big to climb it all.

The water really is this clear, and yes, there is deep water soloing.

The climbing is world class. I'd like to tick 'Daniboy' the most popular 8a on the island, as well plenty of 7c and 7c+'s. Some 7b on-sights would go a treat also. Better bring my best game.

Finally, on to Paris. Must see attractions include baguettes and Euro Disney Land. I may have been here before.. It will be cold.

But that means good friction at font ! After a trip to Castle hill in May this year, I have a soft spot for the boulders. What sort of trip would be complete without a few days on the bloc. Fontainebleau, tres bien, we.

My flight leaves in 14 hours, I haven't packed yet. My camera is broken and I can't find the charger. I think I'd better stop stressing over this blog and chill out with some quality Air Crash Investigation.

Stay tuned, it's gunna be swell.
